About Warren
Warren McCarty is the Founder of mypassionisfootball.com and the host of the popular MPIF Radio Show on ESPN Radio weekday mornings from 9-11 in Amarillo. He is a member of the Pro Football Writers of America, and serves on their Membership Committee. He is also the Play-By-Play voice of Shark Fights on ESPN Radio. He hosts The Panhandle Showdown live from the Big Texan on Wednesday night’s during the high school football season. He appears as an Insider on Amarillo’s CBS Affiliate NewsChannel 10 during the football season, and covers college football recruiting, MMA, and boxing for the Amarillo Globe-News as well.
Prior to joining the world of media full-time, Warren spent 11 years in Pro Football. He became the youngest certified agent in professional sports history when he earned certification with the CFL Players Association in 1998. After six years in the agency business, he consulted and wrote scouting reports for several teams in the NFL, AFL and CFL. From 2004-2008 he served as QB Coach and then General Manager for an Arena Football franchise in Texas.
Warren played Quarterback at Randall High School in Amarillo during the early 90’s, and quarterbacked the Raiders to their first undefeated regular season in 1994. He married his high school sweetheart, Amanda, in 1997. They reside in Amarillo with their five children and two dogs.
